  • When Ulysses S. Grant was president in the 1870s, he once got a speeding ticket from a cop in Washington D.C. for riding his horse and buggy too fast.

  • American cheese is legally required to be made from at least two types of other cheeses.  Cheddar, Colby, and Jack are the most common ones used to create it.

  • D. Salinger had only written a little bit of “The Catcher in the Rye” when he went off to fight in World War Two.  And he loved what he’d written so much that he carried the pages with him when he stormed the beach at Normandy.
