Arrest made in DeKalb County stabbing

DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Police say one man should recover after he was stabbed Tuesday night.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a 23-year-old male who was stabbed. It was also reported that the male suspect had fled the scene on foot.

A DeKalb County canine officer initiated a track and eventually located the suspect attempting to hide in bushes in the 6200 block of S.R. 1, which was approximately .54 miles from the original scene of the stabbing. The DeKalb County air support team also assisted during the investigation. Indiana State Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were requested to the scene.
The victim was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital in fair condition.
The suspect was identified as Leslie J. Swindell and was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on a Level 3 Felony charge of Aggravated Battery. More charges are possible, due to the ongoing investigation.
