Businesses in Speedway look for workers ahead of Indy 500

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (ADAMS) – Bars, restaurants, and shops in Speedway have a little more than a week to get their staff up to strength and up to speed before race day.

A number of businesses near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway say they need workers ahead of the race. The staff at the local pizza joint, Brozinni’s Pizzeria, says they can’t find enough people. Owner James Cross says people either have found new jobs or don’t want to come back to work.

The shortage means the workers who are on the job are having to do more, and customers are having to wait longer.
