ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Commissioners’ office announced the County Night Out schedule for 2019 — and there’s something different planned for the first event.
This year, the commissioners felt it important to offer a downtown Fort Wayne location for one of the events as a reminder to city residents that they also receive services from county government. So with that in mind, the first County Night Out meeting will be on Wednesday, September 11, in the Citizens Square Omni Room from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
As for the rest of the schedule, the Grabill Park Pavilion at 13131 Indiana Street will be the site of the second County Night Out on Tuesday, September 24. The third event is set for Tuesday, October 8, in Huntertown at the Fire Department Headquarters, 15412 Lima Road.
Both of these meetings will begin at the traditional time of 6:30 p.m. and run until 8:00 p.m.
“County Night Out” features an open-house format designed to allow citizens the opportunity to meet the Commissioners and other elected officeholders face-to-face and get information about programs and services offered by various County departments.
Among the County departments and elected officeholders which will be represented at the meetings are the Parks Department, Highway Department, Health Department, Department of Homeland Security, County Extension Service, Department of Environmental Management, Voter Registration, Election Board, Human Resources, Treasurer and Assessor.
