FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – With a name like Mad Anthony Wayne, it may surprise you to know that Fort Wayne doesn’t have a day to celebrate its namesake. But that could be changing.
City leaders are looking at a plan to declare July 16th as Mad Anthony Wayne Day.
July 16th is not his birthday, rather it’s the day in 1779 that Wayne led a bayonet charge on a group of British troops who were threatening to attack George Washington in New York.
