FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Fort Wayne mom is accepting responsibility for her role in her son’s 2017 death. Amber Garrett pleaded guilty yesterday to neglect charges in her son Malakai’s death.
A jury convicted Garrett’s boyfriend of beating the little boy to death. He’s serving a 40-year sentence. Garrett’s plea deal caps her prison sentence at six years.
