FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A man has been arrested after barricading himself in a home in Fort Wayne Sunday morning.
Police were called to the home in the 2400 block of Cambridge Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. when a woman said her husband fired shots at her car when she was in the vehicle.
He refused to leave the home until about 7:20 a.m. when he was arrested without incident.
Police say he did have a gun. No one was hurt in the incident which police say is still under investigation.
FWPD officials released the following;
On Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 at around 0430 am Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 2 4 0 0 Block of Cambridge. A woman stated her husband fired 2 shots at her vehicle while she was inside of it. Dispatch also received further calls from area residents who heard gunfire. When Officers arrived, the male was uncooperative and refused to exit the home. Fort Wayne Police Dept Emergency Services Team and Crisis Response Team were paged to respond. CRT Officers were able to make contact with the individual over the phone, who still refused to cooperate. The male did eventually exit the residence around 0 7 2 0 am where he was apprehended by officers. He was found to be in possession of a firearm at that time. Neither the female victim nor the male suspect were injured. This incident remains under investigation with the Fort Wayne Police Dept and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
