How you can try tennis for free

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Tennis is booming and now you can get in the game through local events and play opportunities in the Midwest as part of National Tennis Month.

For the second year in a row, the United States Tennis Association/Midwest Section is hosting interactive tennis activities for kids and adults to try the game for free.

Play Tennis Midwest released the following:

Children and adults (ages 5+) will have an opportunity to play on local courts at Swinney Park on Friday, May 13th, 2022. The best part: There’s no cost to play. Even better: If you don’t have a tennis racquet, one will be provided to you onsite!
Last year, our inaugural “Play Tennis Midwest” events took place at 60 different locations across five states and attracted more than 2,100 attendees of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Since 2019, tennis participation has grown significantly (Forbes, Racquet Sports Industry Magazine, USTA.com) with 4.9 million more people taking to the courts. Many participants wanted to pick up a new sport that was easy to learn and safe to play in a pandemic. That’s why the USTA/Midwest Section is offering Play Tennis Midwest events – to encourage beginners who are new to the game, and anyone looking to make their tennis comeback!
