Indiana Senate backs away from gun license end

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Gun owners in Indiana will continue to need a permit to carry a firearm.

On Tuesday, the Indiana Senate scuttled a plan to do away with licenses and make Indiana the latest Constitutional Carry state.

Senate Republicans said opposition from the Indiana State Police was just too much.

Senators did move to make gun licenses free.
The $75 fee for a lifetime permit is going to go away in the state.
