INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Supreme Court will determine if Ball State University can face a class action lawsuit for canceling in-person classes during the pandemic.
The state’s highest court agreed to hear arguments in a lawsuit filed by a Ball State student who alleges the school would not reimburse him for tuition and services during the covid-19 pandemic.
This comes after Indiana passed a law in 2021 to prohibit class action lawsuits against universities and colleges for losses stemming from the pandemic.
Justices will review the case after a Marion County judge blocked the class action portion of the lawsuit.
