LaGrange Co. man faces charges of sexual misconduct, child porn

LAGRANGE CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in LaGrange County have arrested a man following an investigation that they say revealed that he had been sexually abusing an underage girl that had been staying with him. Police also say they recovered child pornography.

Stanley Ray Myers Sr. was taken in on Tuesday of last week and is now facing charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and possession of child pornography.

The LaGrange County Sheriff issued the following:

On June 29th, Stanley Ray Myers Sr. was arrested on a warrant for sexual misconduct with a minor and possession of child pornography.

On April 19th, the Lagrange County Sheriff’s Office began the investigation of possible sexual misconduct with a minor and possession of child pornography incidents.

The suspect was Stanley Sr. It was reported that there had been a sexual relationship between Stanley and a female minor. The female minor had been residing at Stanley’s house on and off for approximately 2 years beginning in summer of 2019. The minor female was 14 at the time the conduct began. During this time Stanley began with inappropriate sexual comments, then touching and ultimately escalated in to intercourse. The minor female said once the behavior started it was almost a daily occurrence when she was there.

As a result of several interviews including an interview of Stanley Sr. It is believed that the sexual relationship had happened. A search warrant was requested and granted by the courts as part of the investigation and several items of evidence were seized from the residence. To include an electronic device that had photographs of what is believed to be the minor female.

All the information gathered was presented to the prosecutor’s office for review on the possible charges. An arrest warrant for Stanley was ultimately granted and Stanley was taken into custody. The Indiana State Police assisted in the execution of the search warrant and review on electronic devices.
