The subject was 51-year-old Mario Madrid. He was arrested a few days ago and police say that since he was released a warrant was issued for his arrest.
FWPD officials released the following:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call in the area of 1000 Huffman St. about an adult male walking around with knives and scissors acting erratic. The caller did not want the subject around her. Upon police arrival, the subject had already went inside his residence. Numerous attempts were tried by police to get the subject to come out peacefully, but were unsuccessful. The FWPD arrested this individual a few days ago on possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Since the subject’s release from jail, a warrant had been filed for his arrest.
A secure perimeter was set and tactical units were paged to the scene: Emergency Service Team, Crisis Response Team, and the Air Support Unit. More attempts were made to get the subject to surrender peacefully, but again were unsuccessful. The Emergency Service Team successfully made entry into the home and served the arrest warrant on 51 year old Mario Madrid without incident.
