Man killed in Monday morning semi crash in Kosciusko County

The driver of the passenger car was killed early this morning while traveling eastbound on US 30. A northbound semi pulled into the intersection at CR 350 W.

KOSCIUSKO CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a motor vehicle traffic crash on US 30 at 350 West in Kosciusko County. The male driver of a passenger vehicle sustained fatal injuries in the crash early this morning.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded Monday morning at approximately 06:40 A.M. to a reported Semi verse passenger vehicle crash on US 30 at 350 West in Kosciusko County. Deputies upon arrival found a passenger vehicle had under rode a semi-trailer at the location.

According to witness statements, the Peterbilt Semi was traveling from northbound 350 West onto Westbound US 30 and was slowing or stopping in the median. The Peterbilt’s trailer was then struck by an eastbound Dodge passenger vehicle.
The operator of 2011 Orange Dodge was identified as Kristopher R. Reed, 40 years of age, from North Judson, Indiana. Kristopher Reed was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the 2015 Peterbilt was identified as Piotr Lubecki, 45 years of age, of Wheatfield Indiana. Piotr Lubecki was uninjured in the crash.
Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Warsaw Fire Department, the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
