Muncie hires private security firm for next school year

MUNCIE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A private security firm will handle security at Muncie Schools next year. The district’s Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved a new $675,000 contract for the firm Legacy Life Security.

A school spokesperson said the private firm is a “better deal” for Muncie Schools than partnering with the city’s police department. A protest last fall put some teachers and students at odds with Muncie Police and the officers in the high school.
