Teenager suffers critical injuries in Monday morning shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Fort Wayne are investigating after a shooting Monday morning at an Oaklawn Court apartment complex. FWPD officials say a teenager was left with critical injuries.

Officers were called to the complex on the city’s southeast side just after 10:30 a.m. Police did not have a lot of details but said the teen was shot outside and staggered to a nearby apartment to get help.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Feb. 6th in the area of 800 Oaklawn Ct., just after 10:30 am. A male juvenile was shot outside in the apartment complex and staggered to a nearby apartment for help. The occupant of that residence called police. FWPD officers arrived and rendered aid to the victim, until medics took over life saving measures. The victim was transported to a local hospital in life threatening condition.

Initial suspect vehicle information was inconsistent. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, gathering any potential digital evidence, and following every lead. The Air Support Unit and Crime Scene Technicians are processing the crime scene.
