Dartford Court shootings ruled homicide/suicide

UPDATE (February 8, 2023):

Fort Wayne Police Department officials say that an incident that left two people dead was murder and suicide.

Initially, police said that Taylor Bushroe was pronounced dead after she was shot in a home off Dartford Court on January 28. A man was also taken from the scene with critical injuries and died later at an area hospital.

The coroner has now identified him as Thomas Boismier. The Allen County Coroner said that his death has been ruled a suicide. Bushroe’s death was already ruled to be a homicide.

Police say their investigation found the same as the coroner.

FWPD officials released the following:

On January 28th, 2023 at approximately 1112 hours, the FWPD responded to 9018 Dartford Ct. on a reported shooting. A female victim Taylor Bushroe was pronounced dead at the scene. A male found suffering from a gunshot wound later identified as Thomas Boismier was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and later died from his injuries. Bushroe’s death was ruled a homicide and Boismier’s death was ruled a suicide by the Allen County Coroner’s Office. This death investigation was ruled a homicide/suicide and the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Homicide Unit investigation supports these findings.

The Allen County Coroner released the following:

The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified on February 3, 2023, by a local hospital, regarding the death of Thomas Edward Boismier, male, White, age 63, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Boismier was found within his residence on Dartford Court, on January 28, 2023. Mr. Boismier was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. Taylor Jordan Bushroe was pronounced deceased at the scene by Three Rives Ambulance Authority. As previously notified to the media, Taylor Jordan Bushroe’s cause of death has been determined to be Gunshot Wounds of Head and the manner of death is Homicide.
Thomas Edward Boismier’s cause of death has been determined to be Gunshot Wound of Head and the Manner of Death is Suicide.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATE (January 31, 2023):

A woman killed in a Saturday morning shooting has been identified.

The Allen County Coroner released the following:

On January 28, 2023, at about 1130 hours the Allen County Coroner’s Office was contacted and advised of a fatal shooting investigation located in the 9000 block of Dartford Court, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825.

The autopsy has been completed and the next of kin has been notified of the death of Taylor Jordan Bushroe, female white 26 years of age from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Cause of Death for Taylor Jordan Bushroe has been determined to be Gunshot Wounds of Head and the Manner of Death is Homicide.

Taylor Jordan Bushroe is the 3rd homicide for Allen County in 2023.

The investigation continues by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

 

The identity and the current condition of the man who was shot have not been released. Police haven’t updated any motive in the case.

ORIGINAL STORY:

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that officers are investigating a shooting on the north side of the city that left one person dead and another in critical condition Saturday morning.

FWPD officials say that they were found in a home on Dartford Court just after 11 a.m.

Police say a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say they found a weapon in the house and it has been reported that the man was the one who called 911

The shooting is still under investigation by FWPD, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the coroner’s office.

The FWPD released the following:

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred today (Saturday), just after 11 am on the 9000 block of Dartford Ct. Responding officers located a deceased adult female and an adult male in life-threatening condition inside the residence. Both subjects were suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). The adult male was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition were he currently remains. A weapon was located inside the residence. There were no other occupants in the home.

The Coroner’s office will release the cause and manner of death, pending an autopsy and next of kin notification. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.
